Product & Candle Care

Candle care

Living Light candles are handcrafted objects made with natural soy wax. Sculptural candles can drip and change shape as they burn, so careful placement and supervision are essential.

Before lighting

  • Read the product-specific notes and allow any recommended curing time before the first burn.
  • Remove all packaging, tags and ribbons.
  • Trim the wick to approximately 6 mm.
  • Place the candle upright on a stable, non-flammable, heat-resistant tray large enough to catch melted wax.

While burning

  • Never leave a burning candle unattended.
  • Keep away from children, pets, draughts, curtains and anything flammable.
  • Keep candles separated and do not move them while lit or while wax is liquid.
  • Burn sculptural candles in shorter sessions to help preserve their form. Follow the guidance shown on the product page.

After burning

  • Extinguish with a candle snuffer where possible and allow the wax to cool completely.
  • Re-centre the wick only after extinguishing and while the wax is still soft.
  • Stop use when approximately 1 cm of wax remains.

Storage and display

Store candles in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, radiators and humidity. Natural wax can soften or discolour when exposed to heat or strong light. Dust gently with a soft, dry cloth.

Important note

Because every candle is hand-poured, small variations in colour, finish, weight and air bubbles are normal. All measurements and burn times are approximate.
