FAQ
Got a question before you order, or while you're waiting for your candle to arrive? Here's everything we get asked most often. If you don't see your answer here, just get in touch — we always reply ourselves.
How long does a candle burn for?
It depends on the size — anywhere from 2–3 hours for our smallest pieces up to 50+ hours for the large Knit Texture Spiral Ball. Every product page has an approximate burn time listed in the spec table, along with a size comparison (roughly the size of an apple, a coffee mug, and so on) so you know what you're getting before it arrives.
Are they hand-carved, or poured into a mould?
They're hand-poured into moulds we've developed ourselves, not carved. Each one is made in small batches in our Dublin studio, so you'll sometimes see tiny variations from piece to piece — a slightly different swirl, a small air bubble — which is part of what makes a hand-poured candle different from a mass-produced one. We wouldn't have it any other way.
Why do I need to wait 3 weeks before lighting it?
Every candle is freshly poured to order, which means it needs time to fully cure — the wax needs to set completely and the fragrance oil needs time to bind properly. If you light it too early, you'll get a weaker scent throw and a less even burn. Three weeks from the day it arrives is the minimum we'd recommend; if you can wait a little longer, even better.
How long does delivery take?
Because every piece is made to order rather than pulled off a shelf, please allow 3–5 business days for us to hand-pour and pack your order, plus delivery time on top. We ship free across Ireland, and also deliver to the UK and EU with rates calculated at checkout by weight. Full details are on our shipping policy page.
Can I return or exchange a candle?
Yes. Standard hand-poured designs can be returned within 14 days of delivery, provided they're unused — hand-poured to order doesn't mean custom-made, so the usual EU return rights apply. The only exception is a genuinely bespoke request made to your own specification. Full detail is on our return and refund policy.
Will the candle look exactly like the photos?
Very close, but not pixel-perfect — that's the nature of hand-poured wax. Colour is a natural soy cream across every design, and small differences in surface texture or minor air bubbles can appear from one pour to the next. We photograph each design carefully so what you see is a true representation, just not a guarantee of total uniformity.
What scents are available?
Every design is available in six fragrances, selected at checkout — from warm and cosy notes to lighter, fresher ones. If you'd rather have no scent at all, we also offer a scentless option on every product.
Is it safe to burn a sculptural candle like this?
Yes, with the same care as any candle. Trim the wick before each burn, never leave it unattended, keep it on a heat-resistant surface, and stop burning once about 1cm of wax remains. Because these are sculptural pieces first, they can drip a little as they burn, so we'd always recommend a tray or dish underneath. Full guidance is on every product page.
Do you ship outside Ireland and the EU?
Currently we ship to Ireland, the UK and the EU. If you're further afield and would love a piece, reach out via our contact page and we'll see what we can do.
